4001/4003 on Law & Order

Post by dave4004 »

Am I the only one who saw Law & Order last night? In the intro, the deceased had lots of expensive music and stereo gear, including a Fireglo 4001 or 4003. When Briscoe mentioned the "guitar", Green said it was a bass, a Rickenbacker.

Not what you would call great product placement, but it certainly got my attention!

I saw it, too. Green even pronounced the name the 'correct' way ('-bak-' not '-bahk-'). Someone on the series' staff must know his/her stuff!

i remember an old "price is right" when they were cleaning up their year end backlog of prizes not collected by the winner due to not being able to pay the taxes. there were two curtains, one having a huge power boat blah-blah-blah, and the other...hold your breath.................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
was the entire line of rickenbacker guitars and basses ! i could not believe my eyes. this was probably in the late '70's early '80's.

maybe mr. hall would remember such an historic show for them. maybe f.c. was the one to donate them, i can only speculate. any other "rotting carcasses" remember this show ???

Holy    !!

Believe it or not my grandmother used to hang out with Bob Barker before he got famous, and he went to my undergraduate university--he actually came back this year in the spring to have a new street named after him that runs by the campus. Maybe I can call in a favor and see if they still have this stuff lying around...

I saw that episode at least a year ago. I was pleasantly surprised by it.

As I recall, somebody at RIC was a big L&O fan and was "in" with the producers somehow and they arranged to have the "cameo" in an episode. I can't recall the person's name, but I think it was before Kenny was answering the phone there.

I also remember DVRing the episode and transcribing the relevant dialog and posting it here several years ago.
